If you thought that solid mahogany furniture only works in dining rooms and home offices, think again. Choose the right items for your bedroom, such as four-poster beds, and wooden reproduction furniture can turn this part of the house into a luxurious space.

Do you want all-out glamour?
If you want your sleeping quarters to be as elegant and glamorous as possible, you cannot go wrong with a Victorian reproduction four-poster bed. These types of beds are often seen as very expensive, but if you choose one that is made in the style of a certain period, you will find they are a lot more affordable than their antique counterparts.
A four-poster bed will turn going to sleep into a chic affair, and if you decide to show your friends and family your new purchase, they will no doubt be impressed with your choice. Likewise, a double wardrobe may be all that you need in your bedroom, rather than one that takes up a larger amount of space.
A small bedside table can also complement your simple bed and wardrobe, especially if you do not have the space for a big chest of drawers. Victorian, Federal and Sleigh-style bedside tables are all simple in design, but speak volumes when it comes to their elegance and quality.
Are you just looking for extra touches?
If you would prefer to stay away from large mahogany pieces of furniture, for whatever reason, this does not mean you have to avoid this style altogether. A carved solid wooden mirror above a chest of drawers, behind the bed or on the wall will provide a twist to your bedroom, especially if you purchase a more unusual one crafted in an Art Noveau style.
You should also remember that wooden dressing tables and chairs have had something of a resurgence over recent years and those crafted from mahogany will certainly stand the test of time and be able to hold several items, such as jewellery boxes and bottles of makeup and perfume.
